PA14_27940 deletion renders hypersusceptibility to aminoglycosides and hampered virulence in Pseudomonas aeruginosa

In this project, we demonstrate that the deletion of PA14_27940 gene in Pseudomonas aeruginosa leads to an increased susceptibility to aminoglycosides and an impaired motility. In addition, the absence of this regulator prevents MexXY-OprM efflux pump expression level -one of the primary aminoglycosides resistance determinants of P. aeruginosa- from being induced by tobramycin sublethal concentrations. Finally, we also scrutinized the implication of PA14_27940 in various virulence phenotypes of this opportunistic pathogen. Therefore, the sequences we want to submit correspond to the DeltaPA14_27940 mutant.
