Staphylococcus epidermidis strain:OGSA-Sep-145 | isolate:OGSA-Sep-145 Genome sequencing
收藏资源简介:
A clinical bacterial strain was isolated from a middle-aged Caucasian patient who developed an infection following spinal surgery involving the use of metal implants. Years after the initial procedure, the patient presented with a cutaneous fistula originating from the deep site of the primary infection, located at the spinal level. Despite multiple courses of various antibiotic treatments, the infection proved unresponsive. Consequently, the patient underwent a revision surgery with thorough debridement of the infected site and the fistulous tract communicating with the skin surface. During this surgical revision, the bacterial strain was isolated. The aim of the present study is to perform a genotypic analysis of the isolated strain, which holds significant relevance in the field of orthopedic infections, particularly as a cutaneous-derived, nosocomial pathogen.
