Bilophila wadsworthia whole genome sequencing

Bilophila wadsworthia is a Gram-negative rod-shaped bacterium species, which is obligately anaerobic and bile-resistant. B. wadsworthia is primarily found in the large intestine. This bacterium is considered virulent in nature because it is commonly found in patients with appendicitis, gangrenous appendicitis, and the blood cultures of patients with liver abscesses. To date, the number of bacteriaemia caused by B. wadsworthia is limited. Clinical isolates of this bacterium is usually suceptibel to clyndamicin, metronidazole and imipenem.
