VIIRS/DNB(Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite Day/Night Band)夜间灯光产品受杂散光污染,导致夏季(5-8月)中高纬度地区像元失真严重。NOAA发布的原始数据中,剔除了全部受杂散光污染的像元,致使该产品像元缺失值较多,时空不连续。为了解决这个问题,作者基于三次Hermite插值方法,插补空缺值,得到北京-天津-河北地区无缺省值的月度VIIRS/DNB夜间灯光数据集(2013-2018),在此基础上进一步合成年平均夜间灯光数据集。该数据集以.tif格式存储,分别为年平均产品和月平均产品,时间范围为2013-2018每年5-8月,空间分辨率为15弧秒。该数据集由120个数据文件组成,数据量为292 MB(压缩为1个文件,29.4 MB)。该数据集不体现火光、船只灯光等短暂性光源,因此,该数据集主要适用于反映社会经济因素的稳定性光源研究,而不适用于特定主题下的短暂性光源研究。基于该数据集的研究成果发表在《地理科学进展》2019年38卷第1期。

The VIIRS/DNB (Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite Day/Night Band) nighttime light product suffers from stray light contamination, causing severe pixel distortion in mid-high latitude regions during summer (May–August). The original data released by NOAA has removed all contaminated pixels, leading to a large number of missing pixel values and spatiotemporal discontinuities in this product. To address this issue, the authors adopted the cubic Hermite interpolation method to impute the missing values, obtaining a gap-free monthly VIIRS/DNB nighttime light dataset (2013–2018) for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and further synthesized the annual average nighttime light dataset based on this. This dataset is stored in .tif format, including annual average products and monthly average products, covering the period from May to August of each year between 2013 and 2018, with a spatial resolution of 15 arcseconds. It consists of 120 data files with a total size of 292 MB (compressed to a single file of 29.4 MB). This dataset does not capture transient light sources such as fires and ship lights, so it is mainly applicable to studies of stable light sources reflecting socio-economic factors, and is not suitable for studies of transient light sources under specific topics. Research based on this dataset has been published in *Progress in Geography*, Volume 38, Issue 1, 2019.
