资源简介:
This dataset accompanies the national cross-sectional study “Awareness, knowledge, and beliefs about Human Papillomavirus and its vaccine among Egyptian medical students.” The research explored the levels of awareness, knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs regarding Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection and vaccination among medical students across Egyptian universities during the 2024–2025 academic year.A total of 1,431 participants from multiple medical faculties completed an online, structured, and validated questionnaire adapted from the Karki et al. instrument, with additional items tailored to the Egyptian context. The dataset includes anonymized responses covering demographic information, academic level, sources of HPV knowledge, awareness indicators, detailed knowledge and belief scales, vaccine attitudes, and willingness to receive or recommend vaccination. The survey instrument was reviewed by a panel of public health experts and pilot-tested prior to deployment. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including Chi-square tests, Mann–Whitney U tests, and multivariable logistic regression to identify predictors of HPV awareness and vaccine acceptance. This dataset provides valuable insight into the preparedness of Egyptian medical students as future advocates of HPV prevention and vaccination. It can inform educational interventions, comparative studies across countries, and public health policy aimed at improving HPV vaccine uptake in low- and middle-income settings.
