CryoEM structure elucidation of Pannexin 3 isoform

Pannexins are homolgoues of gap junction channels that remain as single membrane channels to facilitate release of ATP and other ions through the channel pore. Pannexins are in three isoforms and we seek to study isoform 3 through cryoEM. PANX 3 is the shortest of the three isoforms and displays both calcium and atp release properties. The three isoforms differ in their pore organization and PANX3 displays the widest pore among the three from our earlier structure. We therefore seek to obtain an improved resolution structure of PANX3 at the ESRF CM01 cryoEM facility
