Microscopy image dataset consisting of 36 scans of 1 to 5 cross sections of Brassica napus leaves (very young, young and old leaves) from plants grown under different soil conditions (well-watered, medium drought, high drought, severe drought and rewatered). Microscopy images were acquired from paraffin-embedded leaf disc samples using a scanner with a x40 lens (Pannoramic Confocal, 3DHistech), allowing a very large field of view (8mm-long observed leaf tissue). These images and data will contribute to improving our knowledge of plant responses to abiotic stresses, specifically under various hydration levels. This dataset provides insights into the mesophyll structural changes occurring in the response of oilseed rape to soil drought, which can support the development of drought-tolerant cultivars.
