QM6a has seven chromosomes and a circular mitochondria genome. Its genome sequence (v2.0) is publically available at JGI (http://genome.jgi.doe.gov/Trire2/Trire2.home.htmlI). The v2.0 genome draft has 89 scaffolds and is still missing many difficult-to-sequence/assemble regions. We applied both PacBio RS long-read sequencing and Illumina MiSeq platforms to resequence the QM6a genome. Following error-correction and de novo assembly, the results reveal seven telomere-to-telomere chromosomes and a circular mitochondria genome.
