Metavirome of KB-1 Cultures

The purpose of this project was to isolate the viral fractions of KB-1 cultures (KB-1/TCE-MeOH, KB-1/VC-MeOH, and KB-1/1,2-DCA-MeOH) used for bioremediation of chlorinated ethenes, dominant in the organohalide-respiring bacterium Dehalococcoides mccartyi. The viral fraction was isolated using PEG-precipitation. DNA was extracted by disrupting viral particles and a Phage DNA Isolation kit (Norgen Biotek Corp.). DNA was sequenced using Illumina NovaSeq 150 PE sequencing technology.
