Leverage ratio of Societe Generale 2018-2022

The leverage ratio of the French bank Societe Generale's increased annually during the period from 2018 to 2021. The leverage ration of the French bank decreased compared to the previous year for the first time in 2022, and stood at 4.37 percent.The leverage ratio is used as a tool to measure the capital adequacy of a bank. The ratio uses Tier 1 capital in order to measure how leveraged a bank is in relation to its consolidated assets. Higher leverage ratios indicate that a bank is more capable of withstanding risks than those with low leverage ratios.
