The goal of the study was to determine the mechanism of action of the microbial natural product beauvericin. Beauvericin exhibits potent antifungal synergy with azoles and blocks the emergence of drug resistance. By performing whole genome sequencing of resistant strains we were able to characterize the mechanism of action.
