the objectives of this work were to 1) identify the microorganisms responsible for the uptake of 13C from 1,4-dioxane and 2) determine the functional genes present and correlate their presence to specific bacteria. The overall rationale behind the current project is to provide knowledge to enhance the aerobic remediation of two important groundwater contaminants (cDCE, 1,4-dioxane) for oxic sites.
