Particle-tracking model output simulating backtracked blue crab larval movements in the Gulf of Mexico from 2010-05-18 to 2010-10-26

Larval blue crabs dispersal was simulated from known larval settlement locations to estimate larval release locations. Model output generated by the particle tracking model using flow fields from the Naval Research Lab’s Northern Gulf of Mexico Nowcast-Forecast System (NGOMNFS) model. Particles were modeled backward in time from Grand Isle, Louisiana (GRA); Ocean Springs, Mississippi (OCE); Dauphin Island, Alabama (DAU); and Pensacola, Florida (PEN). The data contain the settlement site, date tracking began, and the geographic coordinates of the simulated larval release site.
