Hospital bed utilization in China 2019-2022, by hospital classification

In 2022, the occupancy rate of hospital beds in China was 71 percent, representing a slight drop from 74.6 percent in 2021. Higher-tier hospitals are generally busier than lower-tier ones, and "Tier Three" hospitals that can perform more comprehensive and advanced medical treatments were much more utilized at 79.8 percent in 2022 and 85.3 percent in 2021.
