Account-ready data for extent of ecosystem types and condition states at Gunbower-Koondrook-Perricoota Forest Icon Site, v01.03.2021

This dataset contains spatial data describing the extent of ecosystem expressions, ecosystem states and ecosystem types at Gunbower-Koondrook-Perricoota (GKP) Forest Icon Site for 2010 and 2015. This spatial data was used to develop an ecosystem account for GKP, including ecosystem extent, ecosystem condition and the flow and use of ecosystem services, within the Land and Ecosystem Accounts Project (LEAP) . The objectives of the GKP case study that sits within LEAP (which includes CSIRO, the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, Geoscience Australia, MDBA, ABS, DISER and others) are to\n •\timprove approaches to ecosystem accounting and increase its use \n•\tincrease capacity to develop and use high-quality ecosystem accounts across multiple government agencies in Australia\n•\tdemonstrate the value of ecosystem accounting to leaders\n•\tincrease demand for and uptake of ecosystem service assessment and valuation by Government.\n\nLineage: These spatial datasets were produced through interpretation of remotely sensed imagery (including land cover, forest height, biomass, stand condition, inundation frequency), vegetation maps and on-ground monitoring datasets acquired for GKP. Interpretation of these datasets and their classification into different ecosystem expressions, states and types was underpinned by a set of dynamic conceptual ecosystem models of GKP produced via expert elicitation.
