Data and R Script Supporting the Scoping Review on Big Data for Tourism Planning and Destination Management

This repository contains the datasets and R script used in the scoping review entitled "Big Data for Tourism Planning and Destination Management: Adoption and Use by Destination Management Organizations". The repository includes: 01_title_abstract_screening.xlsx: dataset used during the title and abstract screening stage;02_02_included_studies_database.xlsx: working dataset containing the studies included in the review and their extracted characteristics;03_03_big_data_applications_df.xlsx: dataset containing the classification of big data applications identified in the reviewed studies;big_data_scoping_review_script.R: R script used for data processing, analysis, and generation of results;README.md: documentation describing the structure and contents of the repository. These materials are provided to support transparency, reproducibility, and future research on the use of big data in tourism planning and destination management. The review covers empirical studies published between 2010 and 2025 and follows the PRISMA-ScR guidelines for scoping reviews.
