The Robert E. Hoover Herbarium Collection

A collection, not including those of Mr. Hoover â s, with approximately 30,000 specimens. Specimens include mainly vascular plants. Most specimens are labeled with a varying degree of information including: scientific name, date of collection, location of specimen, habitat of plant, altitude of plant site, site morphology, and county were specimens were obtained. The specimen collection is organized by major plant group, such as monocot/dicot/fern etc. A majority of this information is found in excel spreadsheet as well as field notes of Dr. Keil. Mounted specimens are kept in herbarium room, notes and excel sheet found in processing office.
