Group 5 dataset on insect abundance

The objective of this experiment was to observe the amount of insects in a 1 metre by 1 metre quadrat in a specified time. The purpose of this was to examine in and how leaf litter coverage and a neighboring sapling of adult tree affects the abundance of insects in the area. To conduct this experiment a metre by metre quadrat, a stopwatch and flaggng tape was needed. Starting at the edge of the Danby Woodlot and moving in, a quadrat was placed on the North side of either a sapling or adult tree. Then the leaf little percentage was approximated and recorded for the quadrat A 3 minute mark was set to measure the abuundance of all insect species observed in that time limit. The experimanet was replicated 50 times for an adult tree and 50 for a sapling. The experiment was completed witht the help of Mariam Nnanna, Dylan Stoll and Mandy Hyuyn
