Unlocking the Bioremediation Potential of Estuarine Microbiomes in Vietnam

The aim of the project is to better understand the adaptation and role of microorganisms along the river-estuary-ocean continuum, and their impact on the Vietnamese coastal zone, mainly in the three largest riverine systems of Vietnam, i.e., the Red River, the Mekong River, and the Saigon-Dong Nai River, during the wet season. Genomic analysis of the strains isolated from these areas will provide information on their potential for bioremediation processes. This project is conducted in the context of the PLUME sampling campaign, of international and multidisciplinary scope, bringing together Vietnamese and French researchers, which took place in the summer of 2024.
