Precast Concrete Wall Tests - Grouted sleeve connections

During the 2010/2011 Canterbury (New Zealand) earthquakes damage was observed to grouted connections used for precast concrete wall panels. A series of experimental tests were subsequently performed to investigate the in-plane seismic behaviour of precast concrete walls with grouted connections. Testing comprised of nine reversed cyclic in-plane tests of full-scale precast concrete wall panels. Seven walls used grouted metal duct connections at the wall-to-foundation joint, with test variables considering panel geometry, axial load, and panel reinforcement. An additional two walls were tested with grouted sleeve wall-to-foundation connections with both a single and double layer of panel reinforcement. Test data from these nine precast wall tests is published including wall design, test setup and procedures, clean sensor data, and photos.
