The Eastern honeybee Apis cerana is the most important indigenous pollinator and honey producer in Asia and plays an essential role in ecology and agriculture. To elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying its biological traits, we analyzed the transcriptome of A.cerana brain by using 454 pyrosequencing technology.
