Characterizing Virginia Public Schools (public dataset)

This dataset contains four separate files that characterize Virginia PK-12 public schools. Each datafile has explanatory notes and data dictionaries, where appropriate. The dataset was created to assist researchers using the Virginia Longitudinal Data System (VLDS) as part of the Building Research Infrastructure and Community Project (BIRC).

The dataset contains the following datafiles:

• Virginia Public Schools Structure and Student Population 2008-2017
• Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) – Virginia K-12 Schools Accreditation 2012-216
• Free and Reduced Lunch Eligibility, by School and School Type, 2008-2017
• Virginia Public Schools 2016: Structure, GIS Coordinates and Free/Reduced Eligibility
