16S Microbiota and Metabolomic Sequencing of Silkworm Gut Under Nickel Stress. gut metagenome

Nickel pollution in food systems poses a significant threat to both the environment and human health. To explore the effects of nickel stress on silkworms and their gut microbiota, we conducted a study using 3g/kg and 12g/kg nickel-contaminated diets as stressors. Our aim was to investigate the alterations in intestinal metabolites and gut microbiota composition by comparing them with the control group. Silkworms (Bombyx mori) were subjected to the nickel-contaminated diets for a specified duration, and their intestinal metabolites were analyzed through advanced metabolomics techniques. Additionally, the gut microbiota was characterized using high-throughput 16S rRNA gene sequencing.
