Evaluations of students' engagement attention and interaction from behavioral analysis by ten experienced professors

This dataset provides a comprehensive overview of the research data regarding student engagement, attention, and interaction as evaluated by ten academic experts. To ensure findability, we share this dataset registered with a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) in Zenodo. The data consists of two primary components: A list of evaluation criteria followied by each expert to assess the students' engagement attention and interaction A quantitative set of evaluations performed by 10 academic experts (professors) on 100 distinct images of students in educational settings. The data is provided in `.csv` (Comma-Separated Values) format, a non-proprietary, open standard that can be retrieved and read by any standard data processing software (Excel, Python, R, SPSS). The criteria are provided in both Spanish and English, facilitating international use and cross-linguistic study. The scoring system (0-100) follows standard continuous scale conventions used in behavioral sciences. The evaluation dataset utilizes a hierarchical header structure (Multi-index), clearly separating individual expert contributions from aggregate statistical measures (Mean, SD, Median). The use of CSV ensures the data can be easily integrated with other educational datasets or machine learning pipelines for automated engagement detection. The inclusion of descriptive statistics (Min, Max, SD, Percentiles) for every image allows researchers to assess inter-rater reliability and the variance between expert opinions. The dataset documents the specific criteria used for evaluation (e.g., body posture, facial expressions, use of electronic devices), providing clear context for how the quantitative scores were derived.
