The subtropical forest ecosystem carbon and nutrient cycling are highly susceptible to increasing atmospheric nitrogen (N) deposition. The leaf litter micro-food webs are both facilitators and regulators of decomposition. However, responses of leaf litter micro-food webs to N deposition remain unclear, especially at humus-near stage of leaf litter decomposition. In this study, the leaf litter decomposition was subjected to experimental N addition (+100 kg N ha<sup>-1</sup> y<sup>-1</sup>), and the leaf litter biota communities (microbes and nematodes) and the subsequent leaf litter micro-food web were evaluated in a subtropical plantation.
