Safety Assessment of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) as Potential Probiotics for Thai Swine and Poultry: A Whole Genome Sequencing Approach

The research objectives encompass a comprehensive approach to the safety assessment of Thai LAB. Initially, we will conduct a phenotypic safety assessment by employing antimicrobial susceptibility tests and evaluating hemolytic activity. Subsequently, our investigation will extend to whole-genome sequencing, aimed at obtaining a comprehensive understanding of the genetic makeup of these Thai LAB strains. To further delve into their safety and potential impact, we will employ bioinformatics tools to analyze genes associated with antimicrobial resistance and virulence factors, providing a holistic perspective on the safety profile of these Thai LAB strains.
