To test the hypothesis of geographical sub-structuring, the ISA, VD and L values were calculated separately for samples in each region. The ISA value for Dhira, Sharqia and Dhofar was 0.0219, 0.0337 and 0.023, respectively. The VD values were greater than the L value, indicating LD in all regions (Dhira, Sharqia and Dhofar) except Batinah.
