Gut microbiota has been causatively linked with diet-induced obesity; however, its role in human genetic obesity remains elusive. Here we used bar-coded pyrosequencing of 16S rRNA gene V1-V3 region to show that dietary modulation of a structurally and functionally imbalanced gut microbiota significantly alleviates morbid obesity in children with Prader-Willi Syndrome.
