Tracking Sustainability Dynamics in EU Transport Sector: Bayesian Latent Change-Score Analysis Study

This dataset contains harmonized longitudinal data for the EU-27 covering the period 2007–2023, designed to support empirical analysis of transport-sector greenhouse gas emissions dynamics. It includes transport-related greenhouse gas emissions per capita (GHG), road freight activity measured in tonne-kilometres (TK), and Logistics Performance Index (LPI) scores.

GHG emissions and freight activity data were sourced from Eurostat, population data from the UN World Population Prospects (via Our World in Data), and LPI scores from the World Bank. The dataset integrates these sources into a consistent country-level panel structure.

All variables were log-transformed and standardized prior to analysis to address skewness and scale differences. Time alignment was performed to match the availability of LPI waves, resulting in harmonized observation periods suitable for longitudinal and latent change score modeling.

The dataset includes the processed wide-format file (DATA_wide.xlsx) used in the empirical analysis, along with associated metadata required for replication. It is intended for use in studies on transport emissions, logistics performance, sustainability transitions, and dynamic panel or structural equation modeling.
