Interakcje mikrobioty skóry ludzkiej z ekstraktami roślinnymi tradycyjnie stosowanymi w leczeniu schorzeń skóry

Results of research conducted within NCN proposal no. 2020/39/O/NZ7/01109. Please consult the readme.txt file for additional information.The aim of the research was to evaluate bidirectional interactions of human skin microbiota with comfrey root (Symphytum officinale) extract traditionally used by patients all around the world. Within the study the metabolism of natural products contained in the raw extract was established. It was shown that some of the natural products belonging to the group of alkaloids were biotransformed by microorganisms contained in the microbiota samples. Apart from that it was shown that the extract modulated the composition of skon microbiota in ex vivo experiments.
