Religious Aspects and Festivals of the Duhumbi

Short description: This collection of videos, audio and photo files displays Duhumbi religious practices, customs and festivals as they were conducted between 2012 and 2017.

Although most of the people of Chug valley have at least nominally been converted to Buddhism, there has been a long and balanced relation between Buddhism and a religious belief system that is locally referred to as Bon (see separate DOIs: http://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.1203628; http://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.1116328; http://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.1134439). Whereas some of the local community rituals have an origin in this local bon, others are quintessentially Buddhist.

The updated version contains, in the Don Turkhen.zip file, the sound file, Transcriber file and transcribed, parsed, glossed, translated Toolbox file of text DTPK [CHUK131014], a young boy's account of the Don turda festival.
