Fungal feeding preference of Two species of Japanese Slugs. Amanita subpallidorosea

Investigating the fungal feeding preferences of two species of Slugs native to Japan. Slugs demonstrate a clear disliking for many Amanita species, and may have strict preferences in relation to fungal feeding. We want to understand how the slugs react to various species of fungi and understand which fungal characteristics may influence their palatability to slugs. As many fungi are still undiscovered we hope to add to existing fungal records and provide more data based on next generation sequencing.
