The gut microbiome promotes arsenic excretion and alleviates host oxidative stress

In this study, Ceftriaxone (Cef) was applied to establish a gut dysbiosis model. We then carried chronic arsenic feed poisoning to evaluate the effects of the changed gut microbiome on arsenic excretion, arsenic metabolism and accumulation in the host. To further explore the roles of microbes for their host under arsenic exposure, the histopathological findings, intestinal barrier genes and inflammatory factor genes of the intestinal tissue were evaluated, and the changes in fecal microorganisms and metabolome were analyzed.
