Enables adenylate cyclase activity. Involved in several processes, including cAMP biosynthetic process; cellular response to forskolin; and olfactory learning. Acts upstream of or within sensory perception of smell. Located in ciliary membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; cardiovascular system; genitourinary system; nervous system; and sensory organ. Used to study major depressive disorder.
