The Sample Design and Assignment Model (MINCOME Technical Report 2)

Mincome combined selected low income households and assigned them to a 3 x 3 experimental matrix that varied support level and tax rate (on income). Follow-up interviews recorded a range of social and economic variables over a three year period. The selection and assignment of households to the experimental design matrix produce a complex sample that cannot be analysed using the same techniques as if these data were generated using simple random sampling.
