Genome Sequences and Phylogenetic Analysis of Leifsonia xyli subsp. xyli str.gdlxx1The gram-positive and nutritionally fastidious bacterium Leifsonia xyli subsp. xyli (Lxx), the causal agent of ratoon stunting disease of sugarcane (RSD), is a major constraint to sugarcane substantial losses in biomass worldwidely by impaired development of the ratoon or stubble plants due to the shortening of the internodes. Due to difficulty to culture Lxx in vitro, using PCR to detect Lxx is conventional. Sequenced the genome of LXX is important for exploiting specific DNA probe to detect in sugarcane.
