资源简介:
Meiotic stability in diverse Musa accessions was measured by the amount of compartments in the tetrad cells that are the end point of meiosis. Deviations from the tetrad configuration with four compartments thereby represent meiotic aberrations, with polyads resulting in aneuploid gametes, and dyads and triads resulting in 2n gametes. Furthermore for a more extensive set of genotypes, mature pollen grain sizes were measured, as pollen with a size below the normal haploid size indicates the presence of aneuploidy, pollen with a size larger than the haploid size indicates the presence of higher ploidy pollen. Lastly, the meiotic outcome (tetrad data) was correlated to the mature pollen grain size for the common genotypes, and pollen grain size and meiotic outcome were also correlated to the genetic structural elements present in these genotypes.
