Seawater samples (4L) were collected and amended with one of three sulfur-containing compounds (DHPS, isethionate, taurine) to a final concentration of approximately 100nM. Incubations were then stored on deck at in situ light and temperature conditions with samples collected after approximately 2-3 hours to examine the effects of compound amendment on open-ocean bacterial communities.
