NRS-12606 | Register of crane inspections

The Public Works Department was resaponsible  for the planning, construction and maintenance of port facilities in New South Wales with the exception of Sydney (since 1901), Newcastle (1960) and Port Kembla (1975). Work was carried out through District/ Regional) Offices, formerly by day labour, later by contract. This volume is a record of the inspection of the cranes under the control of the Department's District Offices from 1957 to 1968. The volume is organised by District Office. Each crane is listed on a separate page and the following information recorded: crane number; file number; location of crane; district; description of crane; capacity; date inspected and comments on inspections.
