Dynamically downscaled CSIRO Mk3.5 Global Climate Model output for southeast Australia

This collection comprises post-processed output of a Regional Climate Model (RCM) simulation performed by Jason Evans of the University of New South Wales Climate Change Research Centre. The simulation covers a southeast Australian domain at a horizontal resolution of approximately 10km and spans the 1985-2100 time period. The RCM used is the Advanced Research WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting) version 3 RCM maintained by the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). Boundary conditions for the ~10km simulation were derived from the output of another WRF simulation covering Australia and surrounding ocean at a horizontal resolution of approximately 50km. The ~50km simulation was forced with boundary conditions derived from a simulation of the CSIRO Mk3.5 Global Climate Model of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's SRES A2 emissions scenario.

A version  of the Climate Model Downscaling Data for Impacts Research (CliMDDIR) web portal uses this collection to demonstrate the capabilities that subsequent versions of the portal will have in facilitating access to output from an ensemble of WRF simulations being performed by the New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory Regional Climate Model (NARCliM) project.
