The major goals of the project are to (a) recover a robust family-level phylogeny of the class Diplopoda, (b) advance our understanding of the group’s complex chemical ecology within a newly patterned phylogenetic context, and (c) to generate a set of taxonomic tools necessary to facilitate millipede biodiversity studies.
