We found the ability of mitochondrial complex I to regenerate NAD+ is the dominant function controlling postnatal alveolar development. To investigate the histologic abnormalities that we observed in NDUFS2 cKO lungs in more detail, we performed single-cell RNA-sequencing on whole-lung single cell suspension isolated from both NDUFS2 cKO and control mice at P21.
