Isthmin-1 (Ism1) is a secreted protein characterized by two functional domains: a central TSR and a C-terminal AMOP domain. <i>Ism1</i>-deficient mice exhibited a spectrum of renal abnormalities including renal agenesis and hypoplasia. The dataset includes immunostaining of E10.5 and E11.5 kidney rudiments with several novel markers, organoids with primary cells from wild-type and <i>Ism1</i>-deficient mice, western blotting data of related signaling activation, and single-cell RNA analysis exploring cell-cell communication at the origin of kidney development.
