Replication Data for: Closing the gender gap in legislative debates: The role of gender quotas

Using an original data set of over 68,000 parliamentary speeches from 1999 through 2017, we construct a panel of legislators, our unit of observation, per legislative session. In this process, we create our primary outcome variable, the number of speeches per legislator per legislative session. Relying on a two-way fixed effects model, we examine the change in the gender gap in floor access, measured by the difference in the number of speeches between genders, from the pre- to the post-reform period.
