Effect of fertilization type on microbial communities in maize bulk soil and rhizosphere

This study looks at the prevalence of antibiotic resistance genes and mobile genetic elements in maize field plots treated with different fertilizers (manure, biogas plant digestate and NPK). 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing was done to follow the microbial communities in the bulk soil and rhizosphere before/after fertilization, and also at corn harvest time.
