资源简介:
Pheasant View Hamlet (Site 5MT2192), excavated in 1979 by the Dolores Archaeological Program, represents a single-family household cluster occupied during the Pueblo I period. The site, located in Montezuma County in southwestern Colorado, consists of a pithouse, adjacent roomblock , borrow pit, and associated features . The architectural style of the roomblock, contiguous surf ace rooms with a basal course of slabs which probably supported jacal walls, suggests a temporal setting of approximately A.D. 780-825. The ceramic profile, in particular the presence of Moccasin Gray ceramics, suggests a temporal setting of at least A.D. 775. It is therefore inferred that Pheasant View Hamlet was occupied sometime between A.D. 775 and 825. The absence of remodeling to the structural units, the low frequency of artifacts, and the volume of midden deposits indicate an occupation of less than 20 years. Originally the information in this record was migrated into tDAR from the National Archaeological Database Reports Module (NADB-R) and updated. In 2015, as part of its effort to improve tDAR content, the Center for Digital Antiquity uploaded a copy of the document and further improved the record metadata.
