The soil microbial communities of sites selected along a pedogenic gradient have been studied at the local scale in Mediterranean mountains. Our study was aimed at analysing the profile, typology, and physicochemical parameters of soils, as well as bacterial genotypic diversity in order to help elucidate the influence of pedogenesis on the bacterial assemblages.
