Data and Code for Visualizing the Structure of Tropical Cyclone Seeds in ERA5

Data supporting the paper “The Structural Differences between Developing and Non-Developing Tropical Cyclone Seeds” by Lu et al. Lu_et_al_2026_ERA5_SeedTrack_RelativeVorticity_850.mat contains relative vorticity at 850 hPa extracted from ERA5 along tropical cyclone seed tracks. The seed tracking dataset is from Moon et al. (2025). Lu_et_al_2026_SeedTrack_Compactness.mat provides the compactness and other key properties of all seeds detected in Moon et al. (2025). The remaining .m files are MATLAB scripts used to generate the plots presented in the paper.
