Stage Two of the Reality Audit project focused on converting the initial sandbox instrumentation into a more scientifically interpretable and collaborator-ready framework. The work completed in this stage added validation scenarios, probe read-only control experiments, null baselines, visualization utilities, a metric-mapping document, plain-language and FAQ documentation, and an architecture overview. According to the Copilot verification report, this phase produced 11 new files, 2 modified files, and a total test status of 55/55 passing. The reported outputs include toy experiment summaries, a probe control report confirming read-only behavior on deterministic fields, four generated figures, and a set of documentation files designed for both technical and non-technical audiences. This stage is important because it moves the project beyond basic instrumentation. Stage One established that the audit layer could be attached to the original sandbox. Stage Two adds the controls and explanatory materials needed to defend that integration methodologically: it introduces sanity-check experiments with expected signal directions, verifies that the passive audit probe does not alter deterministic simulation outcomes, and formalizes how continuous-state metrics are translated into room-graph and turn-based sandbox semantics. 1. Purpose of Stage Two The purpose of Stage Two was to strengthen the scientific reliability and communicative clarity of the Reality Audit framework after Option B integration into the original sandbox. In practical terms, this stage had five main objectives: 1. add validation scenarios with predictable behavior, 2. test whether the probe is truly read-only, 3. provide baseline policies and control comparisons, 4. document the mapping between continuous metrics and room-graph interpretations, 5. and prepare explanatory materials suitable for collaborators and non-technical stakeholders. This phase responds directly to the concern that instrumentation alone is not enough. An audit layer must also be interpretable, testable under known conditions, and explainable to people who were not involved in the implementation.
