Reviving Millet: Agronomic and culinary evaluation of millet genetic resources (Panicum miliaceum and Echinochloa frumentacea) in France (2023–2024)

This record contains two complementary datasets generated within the Reviving Millet activities, evaluating millet (Panicum miliaceum and Echinochloa frumentacea) genetic resources in France in 2023-2024. The trial was led by INRAE as part of the Horizon Europe LiveSeeding project (T1.1 Dynamic Management of Plant Genetic Resources). MILLET_INRAE_2023 – Trials 2023 contains field evaluation data, including accession information, plant emergence and vigour, morphological and phenological traits, yield and yield components, and grain colour. MILLET_INRAE_2024 – Culinary traits contains culinary evaluation data obtained in 2024 from seed produced during the 2023 field trial, including dehulling ability, raw grain characteristics, cooking performance, sensory evaluation of cooked grains, and quality assessments of galette, porridge, and pound cake.
